Our client is a large market leader in wireless/telecom, expanding its IoT solution line to a variety of industrial and commercial applications. They are hiring a Sr. Manager of Product Management to provide technical vision and guide the product management team in developing product proposals, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies for major mobile and IoT solutions.

The Sr. Manager of Product Management will lead IoT product development within the product management team. This person will manage the team’s overall strategy, pricing, sales strategy, and market segmentation.

Focus:

  • Develop value propositions and business cases for new products. Provide strategic direction and technical expertise to product engineering team for IoT connectivity solutions.
  • Manage product lifecycle from end to end: functional specifications, proposal, product roadmap, implementation, testing, go-to-market strategy, and launch.
  • Assist in developing metrics and processes for product workflow improvements, risk assessment, and process improvements.
  • Meet with high-level customers to define project scope, budget, and end goals.
  • Build relationships with partners and major vendors.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and R&D teams to support product branding, roadmaps, customer-facing material, go-to-market strategy, and PR.
  • Produce data sheets, product feature marketing materials, technical user manuals, product specifications, and other related documentation.
  • Contribute to product discussions; give feedback on flaws and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the competitive landscape within the IoT space. Gather competitive intelligence and product feedback to incorporate into product improvements.

 

Skills:

  • 8+ years of product management experience for software or telecom solutions, including recent experience with enterprise-grade IoT solutions.
  • 3+ years in a senior role, managing a product development team. Global experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical understanding of the wireless network ecosystem, especially as it relates to large-scale carrier networks, backhaul, and IoT/M2M device integration.
  • Understanding of IoT and related connectivity technology, including:
    • Embedded and real-time systems
    • MNO vs. MVNO network infrastructure
    • SIM cards
    • Modules and gateways
    • Wireless technologies, protocols, and standards (3G, 4G/LTE, GSM, 802.11).
  • Understanding of back-end IoT software: platforms, cloud applications, mobile apps, security, data storage, and architecture.
  • Agile/Scrum software development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical field. MBA is a plus.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, and analysis skills.
  • Technical understanding of VoWiFi, VoLTE, RAN, public APIs, secure WiFi access, stationary hotspots, data offloading, roaming, and related technology is a strong plus.
